Pressure makes a week feel like an hour. Writing a plan turns that hour back into a week.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Under pressure, time collapses. Everything feels simultaneous and urgent, the mind cannot hold the sequence, and a week of separate tasks compresses into one undifferentiated emergency. Putting it on paper separates those tasks again and shows the gaps between them, which are usually wider than panic suggested.
Take ten minutes and write down every outstanding thing with the day it is actually due. Then put them in order. You will often find that two items are genuinely tight and the rest have room. The relief comes not from the plan being clever but from seeing the real shape of the week.
