Coming back after a long break is faster than starting fresh. Muscle memory is loyal.

RESILIENCE
Time away does not return you to zero. The patterns you built are still there, mostly intact, just slow to wake up. That first session back feels worse than it is because you are comparing yourself to your best rather than to a beginner, and the recovery curve is far steeper than the original learning curve.
Go back in deliberately small. Give it two or three sessions before judging where you stand, and expect the first to feel clumsy. Keeping your expectations low for a week is often the difference between restarting properly and quitting again over one bad day.
