Publishing something imperfect teaches you more than polishing something nobody will ever see.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Work that stays private cannot correct you. You can refine it indefinitely and remain wrong in the same way throughout, because the only feedback available is your own, and yours is what produced the flaw. Releasing something imperfect is uncomfortable and it is also the only way to learn what you cannot see from inside.

Set a date to put something out rather than a standard for it. Accept that the first few will embarrass you slightly later, which means you kept improving. Then watch what people respond to, which is almost never what took you longest.
