Songs keep getting sung long after the person who wrote them is gone. Make something that can travel without you.
CREATIVITY
CREATIVITY
Some things you make stay attached to you and stop when you stop, while others detach and carry on without you. The difference is usually whether they can be used, repeated or taught by someone who never met you. Work that needs your presence is not worse, but its reach is shorter, and it ends when your attention does.
Ask whether anything you do would still function if you were not there to run it. A written guide, a recording, a method you taught someone properly. Putting one thing into that form takes a weekend.
What could you make that would outlive your involvement?
