Ambition without patience is just frustration with a nicer name.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Wanting something badly does not change how long it takes to build, and the gap between the wanting and the timeline is where most of the misery lives. Without patience, ambition becomes a constant grievance about the present, which is exhausting and makes you worse at the very work that would close the gap.

Put an honest timeline next to your goal, in years if that is what it takes. Then pick what you will do this month and let that be the whole measure of the month. Judging a five-year thing by March is how people quit in April.
