Charm and warning signs coexist comfortably, and the charm is usually what makes the sign hard to read. Liking someone produces a strong pull to reinterpret what you have already seen, so the evidence gets reweighed until it fits the feeling. Both things are true at once, and only one of them is fact.

Write down the thing that concerned you before you started explaining it away. Check it again in two weeks and see whether the explanation has had to grow.
