Physical discipline teaches truths that motivation cannot explain from a chair.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

There are things about effort, patience, and your own limits that cannot be understood by reading or reasoning. They are learned by doing something physically difficult repeatedly, feeling the resistance, and continuing. Motivation talks about persistence in the abstract. The body teaches it directly, and the lesson transfers to everything else.

Take up something physical that is genuinely hard for you and stay with it past the point of enthusiasm. What you learn there will show up in your work and your patience. It cannot be arrived at by thinking.
