Fear can ride along. It just doesn’t get the aux cord or the steering wheel.

Acting only once the fear has gone means waiting for a passenger who has no intention of getting out. It does not have to go. What matters is whether it is choosing the route, and most people hand it the wheel without noticing they did.
Make the decision first, on your own terms, then let the nervousness come with you while you carry it out. Say out loud what you are going to do and when. Fear is much easier to tolerate as company than as a voting member.
What has fear been deciding for you lately?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
