Choosing friends who push back on you is risky. Choosing ones who only nod keeps you small.

Agreement is pleasant and tells you nothing. A circle that only confirms you will keep you comfortable at exactly your current size, because nobody in it has any incentive to say the inconvenient thing. Friends who argue with you are more expensive to keep and considerably more useful to have.

Notice which people in your life have ever changed your mind. Bring them the decision you are least sure about and actually listen rather than defending. And be that friend in return, gently, because the arrangement only works if it runs both ways.
