Busyness is easy to display and therefore easy to compete over, which is how exhaustion turns into a status symbol. Resting in that environment means accepting that you will look less committed than the people narrating their hours. Confidence is what allows you to stop, because you are not using activity as proof of your worth.

Take one day where the work is genuinely put down, not moved to your phone. Do not announce it or apologize for it. Notice how much of your usual urgency was about being seen working rather than about the work itself.
