The impatient expert often forgets how many repetitions built their intuition.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Intuition feels like a natural sense once it exists, and its origin in thousands of unremarkable repetitions gets forgotten. So the expert becomes impatient with the beginner for not seeing what is plainly there, without recalling that it took years to become plain. The impatience is a failure of memory rather than of the student.

When you feel that irritation rising, ask how long it took you. Then set the expectation accordingly. Patience here is mostly accurate recollection.
