Tell one honest friend your plan. It’s harder to ghost a goal when someone’s going to ask about it.

Intentions kept entirely inside your head can be revised silently, and they usually are. Once another person knows, quitting requires an explanation, and having to say it out loud is often enough to carry you through the week where nothing feels worth it. The friend does not need to push you. They only need to remember.
Choose someone who will ask plainly rather than cheer. Tell them the specific thing and when you will report back. Give them permission to ask again if you go quiet.
Who could ask you about your goal next month?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
