Rules from other people feel like fences. Rules you set for yourself feel like a steering wheel.

LEADERSHIP
Identical rules can feel like restriction or like control depending entirely on where they came from. Imposed limits are something happening to you. Chosen ones are something you are doing, and the difference is not cosmetic, because you will maintain the second kind through resistance and abandon the first at the earliest opportunity.
Take one rule you currently resent and decide whether you would choose a version of it yourself. If you would, own it and set the terms. If you would not, stop pretending to follow it and deal with that honestly.
Which rule would you keep if nobody imposed it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
