Shared responsibility has a way of becoming nobody’s responsibility, because everyone assumes the standard is set elsewhere. Working to your own level regardless of what others do is partly about the result and mostly about not letting the group decide who you are. It also tends to raise what everyone else brings.

Define your section clearly and finish it properly before anyone asks. Do not spend energy resenting the distribution while the work is still open. Fix the arrangement afterwards if it needs fixing, and do your part now.
