Every “omw” text sent from your bed is a small lie your friends slowly learn to budget for.

Small untruths about timing are rarely treated as lies, which is exactly why they work for a while. What happens instead is that people adjust: they add twenty minutes to whatever you say, they stop counting on the time you gave, and eventually they stop making plans that depend on you arriving. None of that gets said out loud.
Send the honest version instead, even when it is worse news. Say leaving in fifteen when you are leaving in fifteen. If you are running late, give a real number, and then meet it.
How much lateness do your friends already build in?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
