Don’t say “done” when you mean “mostly.” People stop trusting the word.

Words about completion are load bearing for other people. When you say done, someone stops checking, plans the next thing, tells a third person it is handled. If done turns out to mean nearly, the cost lands on their schedule rather than yours, and after two of those your reports get quietly verified.
Use the accurate word instead. Ninety percent, one thing left, finished except the last section. It sounds less impressive and it is far more useful, and the day you say done, people will actually believe you and act on it.
When did you call something done before it was?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
