The rubric tells you how to pass. Your own standard decides whether you’re proud of it.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

A rubric describes the floor. It tells you what a grader will accept, which is genuinely useful and completely silent on whether the work is any good. Two people can meet the same criteria and only one of them will still respect the thing a year later, and that difference is set entirely by a standard nobody assigned.

Meet the requirements first, since they are the price of entry. Then ask separately what would make it worth your name, and give it one more pass on that basis. Keep track of which standard you are working to.
