Church should be the one place nobody has to pretend they’re fine.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Any gathering built around forgiveness has no business requiring people to look fine. When it does, the effect is exactly backward: the people most in need of it perform hardest, and everyone concludes they are the only one struggling. Pretending becomes the shared activity, and nothing real gets said.
You can change the room faster than you think by answering one question honestly this week. Say the actual answer when someone asks how you are doing, not the whole story, just the true version. Then make it safe for whoever answers you the same way.
Where do you still perform being fine?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
