Doubt that still talks to God is not unbelief. It’s a conversation.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Doubt gets treated as the opposite of faith when often it is faith arguing. The person who has genuinely stopped believing stops addressing anyone. Questions, complaints and long silences that are still pointed somewhere are a relationship under strain, not a relationship ended. There is room in that for honesty that a performance of certainty never allows.
If you are in a stretch where none of it feels true, keep talking anyway and say the actual thing. Bring the question you have been embarrassed to ask out loud. Tell one person you trust where you are, so the doubt does not do all its work alone in the dark.
Which question about faith are you afraid to ask out loud?
