Surrender isn’t giving up. It’s opening your hands so God can actually put something in them.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Holding on tightly has a cost that is easy to miss, since closed hands cannot receive anything either. Surrender gets heard as defeat, as though you were handing over your life and walking away from it. It is the difference between clutching one outcome and being available for one you did not plan.

Identify the thing you have been gripping hardest, the result you keep trying to force from your end. Keep working, and stop demanding the specific shape of the answer. Say once, out loud, that you are open to a different one, and notice how much of your tiredness was in the grip rather than the work.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you gripping so hard that nothing new can arrive?
