Notice the tired hands that make your normal possible, and thank God for every one of them.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Your ordinary day runs on the labour of people you never see. The road was cleared before you drove on it, the shelves were filled overnight, the machinery of a normal morning was set up by somebody tired. Invisibility is a feature of work done well. It is also why gratitude so rarely reaches the people who earned it.
Pick one of those people this week and make them visible: the driver, the cleaner, the person restocking at seven in the morning. Use a sentence rather than a nod, and mean it. Then let that noticing spread to the people at home whose work you have also stopped seeing.
Whose unseen work made your ordinary morning possible?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
