One day “later” quietly becomes “never,” and nobody announces the transition.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
There is no moment where a postponement becomes a cancellation. The visit, the letter, the reconciliation, the trip all stay on the list, still intended, until the circumstances change and the possibility closes without ever having been declined. That is what makes later so risky as a habit. It disguises the ending as a delay.
Look at your list of things you have been meaning to do that involve other people, especially ageing ones. Move one of them into an actual date this month. Those are the ones where the window closes without notice.
What did you put off so long it quietly became impossible?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
