Choosing what not to pursue is part of choosing intelligently.

RESILIENCE
A good decision has two halves, and the second one gets skipped. Choosing what to pursue is enjoyable and choosing what to abandon is not, so people accumulate pursuits without ever closing any. The result is a wide, shallow effort that never gets far enough into anything to see the returns.
Make a short list of things you are going to stop pursuing, at least for now. Say it plainly rather than letting them fade. Deciding not to do something is a real decision with real benefits.
