Being bored for an afternoon is a luxury. It means nothing is on fire.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Boredom requires safety. Nothing urgent is happening, nobody needs you, no crisis is asking for your attention, and the emptiness you are complaining about is what an absence of emergency feels like from the inside. Anyone who has just had a genuinely eventful week would trade for it without thinking.
You are allowed to find it dull. Try adding the second reading anyway: an empty afternoon is what a week without emergencies looks like. Then either use it or waste it deliberately, both of which beat resenting it.
When did boredom last tell you nothing was wrong?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
