Your favorite shirt was stitched by someone you will never meet. Wear it like you know that.

GRATITUDE
Almost nothing you own was made by anyone you could name. A person sat at a machine and produced the thing you now pull on without thinking, and the whole distance between those two facts is what makes clothes easy to treat as disposable. Somebody’s hours are in there. You just cannot see whose.
Keep things longer and repair them where you can. Learn one stitch, replace a button, get the shoes resoled rather than replaced. None of that repays anyone directly, and it does treat the work as work rather than as something that simply appeared.
Who made the clothes you put on this morning?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
