Before a caterpillar gets wings, it turns into total mush. The messy middle is part of the design.

Transformation is not a tidy upgrade where one version politely replaces another. In the middle, the old structure comes apart before the new one exists, and that stage has no shape you can point to or describe to anyone. Feeling formless partway through a change is not evidence that the change is failing.

When you cannot name any progress this week, look for the quieter markers instead. Things that used to appeal to you and no longer do. Questions you did not used to ask. Those count, even when there is nothing yet to show.
