Quitting drops the ball. Pivoting keeps holding it and changes direction.

LEADERSHIP
Abandoning and redirecting look similar from the outside and feel nothing alike from the inside. One puts the whole thing down and walks away from what you learned. The other keeps every hour you invested and points it somewhere more honest about what you now know.
Before you decide you are done with something, ask what you would carry forward if you changed direction instead of stopping. If the answer is most of it, you are not quitting. Write down the part that stays, then let the rest of the plan change shape.
What are you calling quitting that is really a turn?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
