Treat your plans like a GPS route, not a tattoo. Recalculating is built into the design.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Plans are useful as directions and harmful as commitments. When you treat one as permanent, every piece of new information becomes a threat rather than something to use, and you end up defending a route you chose while knowing less than you know now. Recalculating was always part of how it works.

Write your current plan in a form you can edit. Once a month, ask what you have learned that the earlier version did not have. Change the route freely and keep the destination under review too.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which plan are you defending past its usefulness?
