Resolutions are fireworks. The quiet February Tuesday where you keep going is the actual engine.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Beginnings are loud and cheap. The declaration costs nothing, produces a rush of feeling that resembles progress, and then expires within a fortnight, while the unremarkable evening in the middle of a cold month is where the thing is actually being built. Nobody gets a rush from that evening, which is why it gets skipped.
Judge yourself by the ordinary weeks rather than the enthusiastic ones. Did it happen when it was dull and nobody was watching. That is the only question the outcome ends up caring about.
Which January promise did you drop by mid-February?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
