The new job, the new city, the new role will feel too big at first. Clothes you grow into always do.

New roles do not fit at the start, and the poor fit is easily mistaken for a mistake in hiring or a mistake in you. It is neither. Capability grows into a role through doing it badly for a while, which is uncomfortable precisely because you can feel the gap the whole time.

Give yourself a defined period, three months or so, where feeling undersized is expected rather than alarming. Ask for help early, when it is still explicable. Then check again in the spring and see how much the gap has closed on its own.
