A plateau isn’t a stop sign. It’s your body and brain quietly installing the last update.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Progress is not continuous. There are long flat stretches where nothing measurable improves while the previous gains are quietly being consolidated, and those stretches are where most people conclude it has stopped working. The absence of visible change is not the absence of change.

When you hit a flat period, keep the routine and drop the expectation of weekly improvement. Change one variable if you like, but do not abandon the whole thing. What usually follows a long plateau is a step up that seems to come from nowhere.
