When everything’s gone, notice what’s still standing: your skills, your stubbornness, your name. Build from that.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
After a real loss the instinct is to count what is missing. There is a shorter and more useful list underneath it: what came through intact. What you know how to do did not vanish. Neither did your persistence, or the way people who know you would describe you. Those are not consolation prizes, they are materials.
When some steadiness comes back, write down what you still have instead of what you lost. Keep it plain and specific. Build one small thing out of a single item on that list.
After your hardest year, what was still standing in you?
