Prevention rarely receives applause because success looks like nothing happened.

Prevention succeeds by producing nothing. No fire, no breakdown, no crisis, and therefore no story, no gratitude, and no evidence that the effort mattered. That invisibility is exactly why preventive work is underfunded everywhere, in organisations and in individual lives, and why it usually loses to whatever is currently loud.

Since nobody will thank you for it, build the preventive habit into a routine rather than relying on motivation. Then judge it by the absence of trouble rather than by any feeling of accomplishment.
