GRATITUDE
Standing between an institution and the people you love, with real stakes and unfamiliar vocabulary, teaches things no course covers: staying calm while out of your depth, asking the question that exposes your own ignorance, holding a room steady because nobody else is going to. That counts as experience even though no one hands out credit for it, and it is the part that transfers.
When you feel unqualified, look back at what you have already handled without preparation. Name the specific skill you used then and use it deliberately now. Much of what leadership asks for, you have done in a waiting room.
