The person in charge is juggling stuff you can’t see. Before you judge the call, ask what they know.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Decisions look simple from outside because the constraints are invisible. The person making them is usually holding information, commitments, and limits that nobody thought to mention, and what reads as stupid from the stands often makes sense once you see the whole board. This is not a reason to agree; it is a reason to ask before concluding.

The next time a decision above you seems obviously wrong, ask what you might be missing before you say anything about it. Ask them directly if you can. You will sometimes find they were wrong anyway, and you will know it properly.
