Influence isn’t a speech. It’s forty small “I’ll send it tonight”s that actually got sent.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Reliability accumulates invisibly and then appears all at once as reputation. Nobody registers any single kept promise; what registers is the absence of doubt when you say you will do something. That absence is built out of dozens of unremarkable follow-throughs, none of which felt important at the time.
Keep a short list of what you have told people you would do, and clear it. If you cannot do something, say so at the moment you know rather than at the moment it is due. Forty small completions will do more for you than any presentation.
What did you say you would send and never sent?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
