Hiring managers call your old shift lead before they call you back. Every shift is a reference letter being written.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The people you work beside now are the ones who will be asked about you later, often without your knowing it happened. That conversation is short and mostly about temperament: were they reliable, were they decent to work with, did they complain. You are supplying the content for it every week whether or not you are thinking about it.
Treat the least important shift as part of the record, because it is. Leave jobs properly, with notice and without burning anything on the way out. Stay findable and on good terms with the two or three people who would be called.
What would your last manager say if someone called?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
