Plant the idea and let someone else water it. You’ll be surprised how fast it grows when it’s theirs.

Ideas move faster when they belong to the person carrying them. Handing yours over completely, including the credit and the decisions about how it gets done, converts a suggestion into somebody’s project. What comes back will not be exactly what you imagined, and it will exist, which the original version might not have.

Offer the idea once and then stop steering it. Resist the urge to correct the direction it takes or to remind anyone where it came from. Measure the result by whether the thing happened rather than by how closely it matched your version.
