Your attention span isn’t broken. It’s out of shape. Train it like a muscle, a few minutes longer each week.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Concentration behaves like a physical capacity rather than a fixed trait. It shrinks when it is rarely used at length and it extends when it is, and neither direction says anything about your character. Feeling unable to sit with one thing for an hour is a description of current condition, not a verdict.

Start wherever you actually are, even if that is twelve minutes, and add a couple of minutes a week. Put the work in front of you and let the boredom pass without switching. Capacity returns quietly, the same way it left.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

How long can you stay on one task before switching?
