Failing hurts for a season. Wondering “what if” can hang around for a decade.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Failure and regret are both painful, and they are priced very differently. A failure is sharp, specific and finite: you find out, it hurts, and then you know. The unasked question has no edges and no ending, so it keeps returning at odd hours for years, and it never resolves because nothing was ever tested.

When you are weighing a risk, compare the two honestly rather than only imagining the bad outcome. Ask how long the failure would actually ache against how long the wondering would. Sometimes the safer choice is the one with the higher chance of hurting soon.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you not trying because failing looks worse?
