The scoreboard that matters most is the one only you can see. Keep it honest.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
An internal record exists whether you maintain it deliberately or not, and it is the one you consult at three in the morning. Because nobody else audits it, it can drift in either direction: inflated to protect you, or harsher than any outside observer would ever be. Both distortions cause trouble, and the second is more common than people admit.
Try to keep your private account accurate rather than flattering or punishing. Give yourself credit for what you actually did and name what you actually avoided. An honest inner scoreboard is uncomfortable occasionally and reliable always.
