Money buys you options. It doesn’t tell you which one’s worth picking.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Money widens the set of things you could do, which is real and worth having. What it cannot do is rank those things, because ranking needs a sense of what you value, and no amount of it supplies that. People who get more choices without getting clearer often end up more stuck rather than less.

Alongside whatever you are saving, spend some time working out what the money is actually for. Write down two or three things that would genuinely make your life better. Then measure your spending against that list instead of against what everyone around you is buying.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which choice would money not make easier for you?
