You’re allowed to be under construction and still worth visiting.

Waiting until you are finished before letting people near you assumes there is a finished state, and there is not. Unfinished is the permanent condition, so the real choice is between company now and company never. Other people are not studying your progress anywhere near as closely as you are.

Let someone in during a week when things are obviously mid-repair. Give the true version of how it is going rather than the tidy one. You will learn quickly that the people worth having around were never waiting for the scaffolding to come down.
