The best part of getting good at something is turning around and pulling the next person up.

Getting good at something is satisfying for a while and then oddly quiet, because the ambition that carried you there has nothing left to want. Turning around fixes that. Teaching someone the thing you had to work out alone gives the skill a second life and gives you a reason to keep it sharp.
Find the person a year or two behind you and offer something specific rather than general encouragement. Show them the shortcut you wish somebody had shown you. It costs an hour, and it is often the part of the whole business you end up remembering.
Who is two steps behind you and needs help?
