Treating this period as an interval before life starts hands all of its value to a future that has not shown up. It is a full stretch of time with its own possibilities, several of which get harder to reach later on. Waiting rooms are for people with nothing to do, which does not describe you.

Build something during this stretch that you would be glad of either way: friendships, a skill, somewhere you actually like living. Notice what you are postponing until there is someone to share it with. Then go and do two of those things alone this month.
