Let people watch you be bad at something new. It’s a strangely powerful flex.
CREATIVITY
CREATIVITY
Nearly everyone attempts new things in private, so being visibly a beginner is rarer than it should be and reads as unusual confidence. What you are showing is that your sense of yourself does not depend on looking competent in every frame. That is more impressive than competence and considerably harder to fake. It also makes you easier to be around.
Take a lesson, a class or a first attempt somewhere with other people present this month. Be openly bad at it. Notice that nobody thinks less of you and a few quietly want to try something themselves.
What would you try first if being bad were fine?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
