You can’t fix a habit you keep calling a personality trait.

REFLECTION
Calling something a trait moves it out of the category of things you can change and into the category of things other people have to accept. Sometimes that is accurate. Often it is a promotion the behaviour has not earned, and the word choice does real work, because nobody sets out to fix a fact about their own nature. That is the whole convenience of the phrasing.
Take the one you describe with is rather than do. Restate it as a behaviour with a frequency: how often, in which situations. Described that way, most turn out to be adjustable.
What do you call your nature that is really a choice?
