A kite only climbs because the string holds it back. Cut it loose and it falls.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Resistance is part of what lifts you. The obligations that seem to keep you down, the job, the people counting on you, the standards you agreed to, are also the tension your effort works against. Remove all of it and you do not rise, you drift and then drop.

Before you cut something loose, ask honestly whether it is holding you back or holding you up. Some constraints deserve to go and some are the reason you are in the air. If you are not sure, loosen the line a little before you reach for scissors.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which limit in your life is quietly holding you up?
