Autocorrect is extremely confident and frequently wrong. So is your inner critic.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The voice that narrates your failures speaks with total certainty and almost no accuracy. It works by pattern matching, filling in what it expects rather than what is there, which is why it says the same handful of things regardless of the situation. Certainty in that voice is a feature of how it works, not evidence about you.
When the harsh sentence arrives, read it as a suggestion you are allowed to reject. Ask whether you would say it to someone else in those words. Then correct it manually, the way you would fix a word the phone got wrong.
What has your inner critic told you lately that was wrong?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
