A temporary feeling can create permanent consequences if action moves faster than reflection.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Feelings pass and consequences do not. A message sent in one furious hour can end a friendship that took a decade to build. A resignation offered in one bleak afternoon shapes years. The asymmetry is brutal: the state that produced the action is gone by the following week, and the action is still there.

Give irreversible actions a mandatory delay when you are in a strong state. Write the message and do not send it. Draft the resignation and put it in a drawer. If the feeling was accurate, it will still be there tomorrow and you can act on it then with the same conviction and none of the wreckage.
